And I don't want the world to see me 'cos I don't think that they'd understand That everything's made to be broken I just want you to know who I am
It's taken over a decade but I can finally stand in a room and say the words.
Hello my name is Jules and I'm a figurative fine artist using photography as my medium of expression.
It's taken over a decade but I understand what erotic photography is, at least to me.
For me it's the peeling back of layers, the removal of fear, the unclothing of shame.
Photography in its rawest sense is the deepest of journeys. It is a way to uncover the true sense of who and what you are.
When there is a deep trust and understanding, a mutual respect there becomes a different form of expression. A natural shift, the one of give and take.
With little instruction or guidance what emerges, every time is the uncovering a little bit of the angel underneath.
True, raw, emotional, bare studio floor and background. The only thing in the image is the model, there is nowhere to hide. Opposite, staring through the deep black mirror of the lens, someone to guide. To hold, to give space.
Each frame, a briefest moment in time, where the photographer and the model connect to create something that didn't exist before, and will never exist again.
I don't want the world to see me, I don't think that they'd understand.
They don't need to understand ... they just need to know who I am.
Who am I ... I am the artist pushing boundaries. Every shoot is an adventure. A route to the treasure chest. It doesn't hold gold or silver. It holds something far more precious.
